CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati women's cross country team will head to Peoria, Illinois for the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 14.

"We are at the point of the season where this group of women are in a solid routine," women's coach Sarah Anderson said. "They trust the training and the rhythm, but more importantly, they trust each other. It's been awesome seeing the upperclassmen create heartfelt relationships with the underclassmen. This is a bond that allows the women to race well along each other."

This will be the first time since 2018 that the Bearcats will run at the Bradley Pink Classic when both the men's and women's teams competed, placing 11th and 26th overall, respectively. Redshirt senior Maggie Breitenstein is the only Bearcat on the current roster that competed in the 2018 race.

The UC men's team will not be competing this weekend.

BRADLEY PINK CLASSIC
The meet is hosted by Bradley University and will be held at Newman Gold Course. The women's 6K red race will begin at 4 p.m. ET.

"Bradley is a great, well-maintained course, and this will be a great opportunity to allow the ladies to fine-tune their 6k one last time before the AAC Conference Championships in Tulsa in two weeks," Anderson said.

The women's field will consist of 32 Division I NCAA teams, including Great Lakes Region opponents Green Bay, Indiana State, IUPUI, Miami (OH), Northern Kentucky, Notre Dame, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Indiana, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wright State and Xavier.

The Bearcats will travel a total of nine student-athletes to Peoria, including the reigning AAC Women's Cross-Country Athlete of the Week, senior Maddie Walker.

BEARCATS IN THE RANKINGS
In the latest USTFCCCA Regional rankings, the men's team is back inside the top 10, holding the eighth spot in the Great Lakes Region, while the women's team is back in the rankings for the first time since week one, sitting in 15th place.
