CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati swim and dive program is heading over to Morgantown, W.Va., to take on future Big 12 opponent West Virginia in a two-day dual meet this weekend.

"I am excited to get on the road and race one of our future Big 12 opponents this weekend," head coach Mandy Commons DiSalle said.  "It will be a challenging meet as they are a great match-up for us, but it will be a great preview of what's ahead for the Bearcats."

The meet will be held at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park. Events will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, and will pick back up at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22. Fan can follow the action with live results for this weekends dual on the meet mobile app.

"I am hoping we can continue the momentum coming off of our first few meets and carry that into this weekend to put together two back-to-back sessions with some fast racing," Commons DiSalle said.

Freshman Joleigh Crye and junior Hunter Gubeno will each look to continue their strong starts to the season.

In the two meets so far, Crye has won a total of five events and has yet to lose in either the 100-yard breaststroke or the 100-yard butterfly.

Gubeno is coming off a three-event win performance against Miami (OH). He scored 33 points for the Bearcats to lead the men to a 216 to 84 victory.

The last time the two schools faced off was back in 2013 at the four-team WVU Invitational, where both UC teams placed second overall. Associate coach Joey Ferreri competed at the meet and placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle, 500-yard free and third in the 200-yard butterfly.
