GREENVILLE, N.C. – The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with East Carolina at Johnson Stadium on Thursday night.

Cincinnati closes out the regular season 7-2-7, 3-1-4 AAC. With the draw, the Bearcats secured the third seed in the conference tournament and will host the SMU Mustangs at Gettler Stadium on Sunday.

Action throughout the first half was traded in the middle portion of the pitch as both defenses limited opportunities in the attacking third. The Bearcats possessed the 3-1 advantages in corner kicks but were unable to find the back of the net off the set pieces before the break.

Anna Rexford finished with a pair of saves to record her third straight shutout, seventh clean sheet of the season. The junior goalkeeper erased the Pirates' best look of the match with a punch out in the middle of the box off a corner attempt in the 83rd minute. It marks the first time since September of 2019 that Cincinnati has posted three consecutive shutouts.

The Bearcats' best scoring opportunity came in the 79th minute when Alexis Campbell played a ball into the box that found the foot of Vyviene Spaulding, who lined up a shot that was deflected away by the Pirates' backline.

With the 12-7 advantage tonight, Cincinnati has outshot their opponent in 11 matches this season.
