MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team suffered a three-set loss to Memphis on Friday night in Memphis, Tenn.
The Bearcats (6-15, 4-7 AAC) could not overcome a cold night on offense, hitting just .099 in the match. The Tigers finished with a hitting percentage of .203 and were +15 in kills (46-31).
Sophomore Emme Madden registered a double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs while sophomore Abby Walker hit .294 with eight kills on 17 attempts.

SET 1 | Memphis jumped out to a 10-4 advantage. The Bearcats responded with four straight kills, including back-to-back from freshman Avry Tatum, to pull within one (11-10). Cincinnati reclaimed the lead after a block assist from Walker and Shaye Eggleston (14-13), but a late rally by the Tigers pushed the set in their favor, 25-22. Tatum and Kailea Carrier combined for seven kills in the frame.
SET 2 | With UC trailing by one, Memphis came out of a timeout on a 5-2 run (10-6). The Bearcats were forced to use a timeout after the Tigers extended their lead to 14-10. Memphis took its largest lead of six (20-14) before Cincinnati pulled within three after an Eggleston kill (24-21). The rally would come up short as the Tigers took the second set, 25-21. Walker put down four kills on seven attempts in the stanza (.571).
SET 3 | Cincinnati used a timeout after Memphis rattled off four straight points to lead 9-6. Another 4-0 run extended the Tigers' advantage to six (13-7). Memphis ran away with the set, 25-13, and match, 3-0. Memphis outhit UC .205 to -.024 in the frame.
