Gingerich (Russiaville, Ind.) led Cincinnati with a 68.67 stroke average (20-under par total) over the team's two October tournaments, finishing third and ninth in those. The Bearcats' team title at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate saw them post school-records of 834 and 30-under par. UC followed it with a fourth-place finish at the Quail Valley Invitational in Florida, finishing ahead of four top-50 teams.
Gingerich, with four-straight top-10 finishes, is 70th in Golfstat, with UC boasting the top two golfers in the AAC. He (69.14 stroke average) and Sam Jean (69.00) each have nine rounds in the 60s out of 14 for the fall, while the Bearcats have won two tournaments and are the top-ranked AAC team by a comfortable margin in Golfstat (32) and Golfweek (33). By comparison, Gingerich's stroke average last season was a 72.76.
UC begins its spring season Feb. 26-28 at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
