CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team concludes the road portion of its 2022 schedule this weekend.
 
The Bearcats (8-18, 6-10 AAC) will travel to Tulsa on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Okla.
 
UC will then play its final road match of the season against Wichita State at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kan.
 
Both matches will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+ and can be followed via live stats. 
 
// WEEKEND REWIND
Cincinnati has won two of its last three matches, earning wins against Tulane and USF. It marked the first time in 2022 the Bearcats won back-to-back matches.
 
The Bearcats defeated South Florida in four sets on Nov. 11 in Tampa. UC earned the season sweep of the Bulls for the fifth straight season. Sophomore Shaye Eggleston recorded a team-high 14 kills with zero attacking errors to go along with 11 digs while redshirt senior Kailea Carrier provided a career night at the net, posting a career-high seven blocks.
 
Freshman Carly Glendinning registered nine kills with only one attacking error on 29 attempts (.276) in UC's setback to No. 24 UCF on Nov. 13 in Orlando. Freshman Paige Pickering, who made her debut at setter last weekend, dished out 10 assists and had a service ace in two sets of action against the Knights.
 
// LEAGUE LEADERS
Senior Payton Frederick ranks sixth in the AAC in digs per set (3.65) and is averaging 3.92 digs per set in league play. She has led the Bearcats in digs in all but five matches this season. 
 
Carrier's impressive play at the net has moved her into 10th in the conference in blocks per set with 0.91. She's averaging 1.47 blocks per set over the last five matches.
 
In AAC play, Glendinning ranks seventh in kills per set (3.42) and 10th in points per set (3.71). Freshman setter Caroline Endres sits fifth in the AAC in assists per set with 9.25. She made her return to the Bearcats' lineup on Nov. 4 against No. 23 Houston.
 
// YOU'VE BEEN BLOCKED
Redshirt senior Kailea Carrier is averaging 1.47 blocks per set over the last five matches and has led the team in blocks during that stretch. She recorded a career-high seven blocks, including a personal-best three solo stuffs, in UC's win over USF on Nov. 11. She had four blocks alone in the third set. She added nine kills with only one attacking error on 18 attempts for a .444 clip in the win.  
 
// SHAYE STEPPIN' UP
Sophomore Shaye Eggleston has posted two double-doubles in the last three matches. She recorded a career-high 18 kills at a .429 hitting percentage in UC's win over Tulane on Nov. 6. She added 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. 
 
Eggleston had an errorless night in UC's win over USF on Nov. 11. She posted 14 kills with zero attacking errors on 41 attempts for a .341 hitting percentage. She notched 11 digs, three aces and two blocks in the all-around performance. In conference play, she's averaging 2.17 kills and 2.62 digs per set and has a team-best 17 service aces.
 
// SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati is 5-4 all-time against Wichita State, including 4-2 in the last six meetings. UC dropped a four-set decision to Wichita State on Oct. 14 in Cincinnati. The Bearcats could not overcome a big night at the net for the Shockers, who tallied 16 total blocks in the match.
 
UC has won eight straight to own a 12-3 advantage all-time against Tulsa. Cincinnati powered past Tulsa in four sets on Oct. 16 in Cincinnati. Cincinnati's defense shined as the Bearcats were +16 in digs (83-67). Entering this weekend, Tulsa led the country in digs per set at 19.72. The Bearcats held the Golden Hurricane to three under that. Frederick steadied the Bearcats' backrow with a match-high 27 digs, one shy of her career high. She was a perfect 17-of-17 on service reception.

Cincinnati concludes its 2022 campaign at home against ECU at 6 p.m. on Friday and Temple at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The Bearcats will honor their five seniors on Saturday against Temple – Payton Frederick, Kailea Carrier, Maria Tobergte, Kerstin Ficker and Madison Waters.
