CINCINNATI – Led by sixth-year senior linebacker Wil Huber, the No. 24/21-ranked Cincinnati football team had six Bearcats named to the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
Huber is a two-time Academic All-District honoree. He held a 3.9 GPA in finance, while getting his undergraduate degree, before obtaining his MBA and real estate certificate.
On the field, Huber is a team captain and starting linebacker with 50 tackles and 5.5 TFLs for the No. 24/21-ranked Bearcats.
Huber is joined on the Academic All-District team by senior quarterback Ben Bryant, redshirt junior long snapper Cayson Pfeiffer, junior linebacker Deshawn Pace, redshirts senior offensive lineman Jeremy Cooper and senior wide receiver Tre Tucker.
Bryant held a 3.7 GPA while obtaining his bachelor's degree in sports administration from UC. After playing one year at Eastern Michigan, he returned to UC this fall to pursue his MBA. He ranks third in the AAC with 21 touchdown passes, starting all 11 games for the Bearcats.
Pfeiffer, a marketing major with a 3.7 GPA, is the snapper on field goals, PATs and punts, combining with sophomore punter Mason Fletcher and senior kicker Ryan Coe to form one of the nation's top special teams units.
Pace holds a 3.6 GPA and ranks fourth on the Bearcats with 51 tackles and 5.0 TFLs.
Cooper started eight games at guard for UC. He holds a 3.6 GPA, as well.
Tucker is a two-time All-AAC kick returner who ranks second on UC with 52 receptions, 672 yards and three touchdowns. He has a 3.6 GPA in sports administration.

Last season, UC led the nation with four Academic All-Americans in First Team selections Desmond Ridder and Alec Pierce and Second Team picks Bryan Cook and Lorenz Metz.
