CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back in action this week, heading over to Bloomington, Ind., to take on Indiana University in a one-day dual on Friday, Dec. 2.
"I'm looking forward to closing our fall competition season with our last meet at Indiana," head coach Mandy Commons-DiSalle said. "IU clearly presents strong competition as they are a very deep team, but I'm hoping to rise to the challenge and see some good performances from the Bearcats."
The dual will be held at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center, with events starting at 2 p.m.
Cincinnati squared off against Indiana last season as both the men (163-122) and women (163-121) fell to the Hoosiers. This weekend will be the fifth time the Bearcats have competed against the Hoosiers in the Commons-DiSalle era.
So far this season, the Bearcats have recorded four 'A'-standard times. Hunter Gubeno holds 'A' standard times in both in the 200-yard individual medley (1:45.94) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:41.47). Gubeno is joined by Joleigh Crye in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.21) and Michael Balcerak in the 100-yard butterfly (47.16).
