CINCINNATI – Graduate student guard David DeJulius and redshirt senior guard Landers Nolley II turned in 20-plus point performances to lead the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team to a 103-76 win over Miami (Ohio) inside Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday night.

The 103 points and 63.3 percent shooting marked the best since defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 27, 2018, and DeJulius (22) and Nolley (20) marked the second time this season that the two had 20-plus in the same game. Miami is also the most-played rival of Cincinnati, with the Bearcats now leading 95-54, and this one marked UC's most points in the series since 1959.

DeJulius turned in 10 straight points to extend the Bearcats' lead to 22-15. DeJulius ended with a game-high 22 points and four assists, his sixth 20-point game of the season.

Freshman guard Josh Reed connected on a three from the corner to force the RedHawks' first timeout of the game before Nolley hit a pull-up jumper from the top of the key to close out a 10-0 run over a 2:12-minute span and extend the score to 29-15.

Great ball movement resulted in a finish inside the paint from senior forward Ody Oguama to help the Bearcats take a 50-33 advantage at the break. The Bearcats converted nine of their final 10 shots and is now 7-1 this season when leading at the half.

Nolley closed out a run of eight-straight made field goals for the Bearcats to make it 80-49 at the 9:39 mark in the second half.

A finish by fifth year forward Kalu Ezikpe off a RedHawk miscue secured the Bearcats their biggest lead of the game at 93-58 with 5:45 remaining in regulation. The Bearcats finished with 26 points off 17 forced turnovers.

Senior guard Mika Adams-Woods led the team with six assists, while junior forward Jarrett Hensley dished out a career-high five assists.

Cincinnati also shot 60 percent from deep with 11 made threes.

Cincinnati continues its longest homestand of the season when the Bearcats host La Salle on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. ET.

FROM WES MILLER
"Well, needless to say, offensively there were some really good things tonight when we run and all five are doing their part, the four guys without the ball are running the right way and the guy with the ball is making the simple play. We just keep sharing it. We could be a pretty good team. There were some really good moments sharing the ball tonight. I want more defensively. I thought there were some good stretches. The collective effort and will for the most part was okay. I want more. These guys showed what they're capable of from a focus, effort, and passion standpoint in the second half against Xavier and it's my job to hold them to that standard every second.
