This is the first-ever meeting between the two teams. A win on Sunday would be head coach Michelle Clark-Heard's 250th career win. She would become one of two coaches in program history and one of four active coaches in the American Athletic Conference to amass 250 career wins.
Cincinnati defeated Ohio 77-44 in an in-state battle inside Convocation Center on Tuesday. The 33-point margin of victory marks the largest road win since the Bearcats defeated South Florida 72-37 on Jan. 24, 2003.
Cincinnati recorded a season-high 41 points off its bench in the win, holding a 41-6 advantage in bench points. It marks the most bench points since the Bearcats recorded 43 vs. Xavier on Dec. 12, 2021.
Cincinnati finished 50.0 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from three. It marks the second game that the Bearcats have converted over 50.0 percent from the field this season. Cincinnati is now 19-0 under Clark-Heard when shooting 50.0 percent or better from the field. Cincinnati also went 12-20 from three-point range; the 12 three-point field goals made marks the most under Clark-Heard.
Senior guard Dais'Ja Trotter finished with a career-high 13 points in 12 minutes off the bench, while junior forward/center Malea Williams tied a career-high 10 rebounds and dished out a career-high four assists. Junior guard Jillian Hayes recorded her tenth straight double-digit scoring game with 10 points and 8 rebounds against the Bobcats.
The Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles are 4-4, 0-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference in the 24th season under head coach Rick Stein. The Screaming Eagles will play a road contest at Wright State on Saturday before coming to Fifth Third Arena. Sunday will mark five straight road games for the Screaming Eagles, who are 1-3 on the road this season. Southern Indiana is averaging 70.0 points and limiting opponents to 65.3 points per game. Junior forward Meredith Raley leads the team with 15.4 points per game, one of three players averaging double-digit points this season.
