BLOOMINGTON, IND.— The University of Cincinnati men's and women's swimming and diving program recorded seven UC top-10 times as they closed out their fall season against 7/10 Indiana on Friday.

"We finished the first half of the season really strong today in Bloomington," head coach Mandy Commons-DiSalle said. "While the top-10 performances & lifetime bests were impressive, it was especially exciting to see the team close out fall semester competition with the same intensity as we began. I think we have grown a lot as a team in a short amount of time this fall and I'm looking forward to what the second half of the year brings."

Freshman Ido Gal and sophomore Collin Singler led the way for the Bearcats by each recording two UC all-time top-10 times. Singler swam the sixth-fastest 200-yard butterfly (1:47.73) and the ninth-fastest 100-yard butterfly (48.12) in school history. It is the first time he has ever recorded a Bearcat top-10 time.

Gal had quite the 1,650-yard freestyle race, swimming the seventh-fastest 1,650-yard (15:18.95) in UC history. His 1,000-yard split time of 9:15.17 was also the ninth-fastest 1,000-yard time in Bearcat history.

Freshman Ella Chown moved up two spots in the record book after swimming the women's 200-yard butterfly in 2:01.10, which is seventh all-time in UC history.

Fifth-year senior Conner Funke and junior Drew Hawthorne each improved on the UC record times. Already holding the fifth-fastest 100-yard breaststroke, Funke swam a 54.81 improving his time by 0.13 seconds. Hawthorne recorded a time of 20.18 in the 50-yard freestyle, still holding the eighth-fastest time in school history.

The Bearcats also picked up four event wins throughout the meet. Junior Hunter Gubeno picked up wins in both the 200-yard individual medley (1:47.10) and in the 200-yard backstroke (1:43.24).
