Cincinnati Concludes 42nd Annual Red vs. Black Intrasquad Meet

The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field team held the 42 Annual Red vs. Black Intrasquad inside the Armory Fieldhouse on Friday.

CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field team held the 42 Annual Red vs. Black Intrasquad inside the Armory Fieldhouse on Friday.
 
The Red Team won 93-83 over the Black Team in the combined team totals after tallying 12 event wins, including five out of the six running events. The meet was tightly contested all the way to the end as the men's Red Team won 48-41, while the women's Red Team won 45-42. 
 
Three Bearcats set meet records, with two coming in the 600-yard dash. Dominique Hall (1:12.0) and Carmen Licht (1:26.4) each won the 600-yard with their record times for the Red Team. Newcomer Fred Moudani already made his presence on the team known, as he broke the meet shot put record with a mark of 19.12m.
 
Hall, the multi-event athlete, had quite the meet as he also won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.4 seconds and placed second in the long jump with a leap of 6.85m.
 
Korbin Spencer and Hannah Jackson joined Hall as the only other Bearcats to win multiple events. Jackson won the women's weight throw with a mark of 18.37m and the women's shot put with a toss of 14.34m. Spencer impressed by winning the men's discus event with a throw of 51.23m and the men's weight throw with a mark of 17.18m.
 
Throughout the meet, new additions to the teams continued to shine Spirit Morgan won the women's high jump with a mark of 1.75m, and Chase VanSickle was the only men's high jumper to clear the bar over two-meters with his winning mark of 2.04m.
 
Austin Goolsby cleared a bar height of 5.00m meters to win the men's pole vault, and Kendal Fisher took home first in the women's pole vault with her mark of 3.83m.
 
Austin Edwards appeared ready to defend his AAC long jump crowns as he recorded a mark of 7.25m to claim first place in the men's long jump. 
 
Returning to the track events, Nyile Facey won the women's 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.9 seconds, and Jayda Bushay showed off her speed, clocking a 6.8 seconds, 55-meter dash time, as both won their events.
 
A complete list of all results from the meet can be found here. Note that none of the times or marks count towards NCAA qualifying marks, as this meet was a scrimmage.
 
The Bearcats open the 2022-23 Indoor track and field season on the road next week at the Hoosier Open in Bloomington Ind., on Dec. 9.
