CINCINNATI  –  Cincinnati football redshirt freshman nose tackle Dontay Corleone collected Freshman All-America honors on Tuesday from College Football News.
 
Corleone played in 11 games in 2022, rotating with senior Jowon Briggs, to anchor a Bearcats' defense that ranked fourth in the country in yards per play allowed (4.52).
 
A native of Cincinnati and a Colerain High School product, Corleone registered 44 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his first year on the field for UC.
 
Most impressively, he finished as the highest-graded defensive player in the nation (93.9) per Pro Football Focus.
 
Corleone and the rest of the Cincinnati football team faces Louisville in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl at 11 a.m. on Dec. 17 at Fenway Park in Boston. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
