CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati men's and women's cross country and track and field program has announced the addition of assistant coach Sarah Anderson. Anderson will oversee the women's distance group.

"We are very excited to welcome Coach Anderson to the staff," head coach Susan Seaton said. "She brings a lot of energy and experience to the program."

"I am so excited to be joining the staff here at the University of Cincinnati," Anderson said. "As soon as I connected with Coach Seaton, I instantly knew that it was going to be an incredible place to work, learn and grow."

Anderson comes to Cincinnati after spending a year as an assistant cross country and track coach at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Under her guidance, the men's and women's teams placed runner-up at the 2021 C-USA Cross Country Championships.

She also helped coach the men to a team title at the 2022 C-USA Indoor Track Championships, while the women's team finished runner-up.

A graduate of Western Michigan, Anderson was a team captain and four-time MAC Conference Champion. She still holds the program record in the women's indoor 800m record (2:05.7) and the women's indoor mile record (4:44.3). She also competed for Michigan State where she was a Second Team All-American in the 1500-meters with a time of 4:13.3 at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

"Her experience in both the MAC and Big-Ten should allow her to immediately relate to the student-athletes as they look forward to a successful cross country season this fall." Seaton added.
