CINCINNATI – Three Bearcats scored in double-figures, but the University of Cincinnati women's basketball team fell 78-58 to Memphis inside Fifth Third Arena on Saturday.
 
Senior guard Mya Jackson finished with a team-high 18 points on her way to surpassing 1,000 points for her career. She is one of 11 active American Athletic Conference players to reach the mark.

Junior guard Jillian Hayes posted 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while sophomore forward/center Clarissa Craig added 11 points. Senior guard Sofia Gritzali earned her first start of the season and finished with five points, four rebounds and an assist in a season-high 27 minutes.
 
Cincinnati is now 7-10, 0-4 in the AAC on the season.
 
Cincinnati finished the first half on a 6-0 run over the final 1:48 minutes and converted on five of their last seven field goals to cut the deficit to one possession at 30-28. The Bearcats held the Tigers scoreless over the final 2:09 of the second quarter.  
 
The Bearcats forced their visitors into 13 turnovers and totaled 20 points in the paint in the first half.
 
A tough driving layup from junior guard Jillian Hayes tied the game at right out of half before the Tigers responded with a 10-2 run of their own to command the lead at 40-32 at the six-minute mark of the third. The Tigers kept the Bearcats at length for the remainder of the contest as the margin did not get any closer than six near the end of the third quarter on a pair of free throws from sophomore guard Braylyn Milton.
 
The Bearcats converted on 12-17 for 70.6 percent from the free throw line, their fourth straight contest connecting on at least 70 percent from the line. 
 
Cincinnati will hit the road to face East Carolina on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET.
