The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team continues its early season road stint when the Bearcats travel to take on a pair of non-conference opponents in Purdue and Indiana this weekend.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team continues its early season road stint when the Bearcats travel to take on a pair of non-conference opponents in Purdue and Indiana this weekend.
 
Cincinnati will face Purdue inside Schwartz Tennis Center at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday followed by a match with Indiana inside IU Tennis Center at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday.
 
This marks the second and third of seven consecutive road matches to open the season.
 
Cincinnati earned a 4-3 win over Butler in their dual match season opener on Jan. 15. Redshirt junior Kelli Niehaus and redshirt senior Maria Santilli clinched the doubles point 6-4 on court two before the Bearcats claimed three singles courts and earned the win when Callie Flanagan took court six in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
 
Purdue is off to a 2-0 start with wins over Memphis and Chicago State on Jan. 15. The Boilermakers enter their 16th season under head coach Laura Glitz, the winningest coach in program history. Purdue finished 12-13 last season and 9-6 at home. The Boilermakers are led by redshirt senior transfer Liz Norman, who recorded 11 singles victories in the fall.
 
Indiana comes into the weekend 2-0 after sweeps over Butler and Bellarmine on Monday. It marks the first time that the Hoosiers have started the season 2-0 since 2017-18. Hoosiers' sophomore Lara Schneider was named an All-Big Ten selection last season after finishing with a 21-9 doubles record and 19-7 singles record.
 
Cincinnati will be back in action when the Bearcats take on Kentucky inside Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Center next Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. ET.
