CINCINNATI – Former Cincinnati football stars Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce and Bryan Cook are set to compete during the NFL's conference championship weekend on Sunday.
Jason Kelce is the starting center for the Philadelphia Eagles, who hold the NFC's No. 1 seed, and will host the San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field in the NFC Championship Game at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday on Fox.
Travis Kelce, an All-Pro tight end, and Cook, a rookie safety, play for the Kansas City Chiefs, who hold the AFC's No. 1 seed. The Chiefs host the Cincinnati Bengals at 6:30 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday on CBS.
The Bengals also have punter Kevin Huber, a UC alum, on their practice squad. Last year, Huber and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Marquise Copeland became the 19th and 20th different Bearcats to play in the Super Bowl.
Overall, 25 Super Bowls have featured a Bearcat.
Jason Kelce won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2017. He has established himself as one of the greatest centers in NFL history, earning five First Team All-Pro awards, including the last two seasons. He did not allow a sack or a QB hit all season, leading the Eagles to the best record in the NFC. A former walk-on linebacker at UC, Kelce played for the Bearcats from 2007 to 2010, earning All-BIG EAST honors twice. The Eagles cruised past the Giants, 38-7, last Saturday in the NFC Divisional Round.
Travis Kelce is the best tight end in football and a four-time All-Pro honoree, including this fall. He had 14 receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Divisional Round game last Saturday. His 14 receptions were the most ever in a playoff game by a tight end. He played at UC from 2009 to 2012, and recently launched the Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation, an endowment that will fund Cincinnati's Sports Psychology and Counseling Department, directly impacting and aiding all 450 student-athletes.
Cook had one tackle against the Jaguars. He played in 16 regular season games for the Chiefs in 2022 – mostly as a rotational safety and special teams contributor. He tallied 33 tackles and made one start. Cook, a Cincinnati native, played 25 games for the Bearcats after transferring from Howard. He had 96 tackles and collected All-AAC First Team honors during a breakout 2021 campaign.
Super Bowl LVIII will be played Feb. 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
