CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics and Student Athlete Support Services celebrated the academic success of our student athletes inside Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday night.
The department recognized 330 student-athletes for their 3.0/4.0 grade-point average achievements at halftime of the women's basketball game. In addition to the recognition, 72 members of cheer and dance also earned a 3.0 or higher GPA.
Director of Athletics John Cunningham, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Support Services Dr. Joseph Luckey, and Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Brian Hatch congratulated the 43 TopCat Scholars who achieved a perfect 4.0 average.
In addition, coaches Lucas Rothenberger of men's cross country and Sarah Anderson of women's cross country were recognized for their teams achieving the highest men's and women's GPAs of the semester. Women's cross country earned its highest-ever with a 3.792 GPA, while the men's program posted a 3.662 GPA.
The department posted a 3.363 overall GPA, its 10th-straight semester with a 3.3 or higher. Eight teams had at least a 3.5 average, while three others were above a 3.4.

- 11 teams had a 3.4 or higher team GPA
- 8 teams had a 3.5 or higher team GPA
- 16 student-athletes on CSC All-District
