Cincinnati Travels to Take on Tulane on Saturday

CINCINNATI –  The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team travels to New Orleans to face Tulane inside Devlin Fieldhouse on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

CINCINNATI –  The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team travels to New Orleans to face Tulane inside Devlin Fieldhouse on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
It will be the 38th series meeting and the first of two this season between the conference opponents. Cincinnati is looking to even up the series with Tulane leading 19-18 overall and 10-7 at home. The Bearcats are also seeking to halt a three-game losing streak to the Green Wave.
 
Saturday will be the second of five road games for the Bearcats in the month of February.
 
Cincinnati dropped a 64-50 road tilt at Tulsa inside Donald W. Reynolds Center last time out on Feb. 1. Junior guard Jillian Hayes turned in her sixth double-double of the season, ninth of her career, with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Her six double-doubles are double the amount she recorded in her first two seasons combined. The 11 rebounds also mark her seventh game this season with double-digit rebounds.
 
Senior guard Mya Jackson finished with 10 points and a team-high five assists for her 14th double-digit scoring game this season. She has led the team in assists in 10 games in her first season in Cincinnati. The Bearcats made their last four attempts to finish 7-10 from the free throw line. Cincinnati has now converted on at least 70.0 percent from the free throw line in six of its last seven contests.
 
The Bearcats have received contributions from a multitude of players this season with 11 of 13 Bearcats averaging double-digit minutes per game. Cincinnati has also employed 14 different starting lineup combinations through 21 games. The Bearcats have had 14 double-digit scoring efforts and 20-plus points in 14 of 21 contests from its bench this season. Six different players are averaging at least 5.0 points per game in conference action.
 
Cincinnati remains a tough defensive out for opponents all season. The Bearcats lead the conference and rank 18th nationally with 4.9 blocks per game, while junior forward/center Malea Williams is posting a conference-leading 1.5 blocks per game. Cincinnati is forcing 7.9 steals and 17.0 turnovers per game.
 
The Tulane Green Wave are 13-9 overall, 3-6 in the AAC in their 29th season under longtime head coach Lisa Stockton. The Green Wave are averaging 72.6 points and allowing 56.0 points, a +16.6 margin, in home games. Tulane is 9-5 at home this season. Graduate student Marta Galic leads the Green Wave with 13.1 points per game. She ranks third and 35th nationally with 2.64 three-pointers made per game and 24th nationally with 58 threes made this season. Galic is one of three players averaging double-digit points per game. The Green Wave ranks second in the conference with 16.0 assists per game and third with a 0.97 assist-to-turnover ratio. Graduate student Rachel Hakes leads the conference with 5.1 assists per game and stands second with 112 total assists.
