CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team hosts East Carolina inside Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
The Bearcats will celebrate Equity and Inclusion Night and those in attendance are encouraged to wear black.
 
Wednesday will be the 23rd meeting between the conference opponents. Cincinnati leads the all-time series 12-10 and is tied 5-5 at home. The Bearcats are looking to snap a three-game losing streak to the Pirates and respond after falling in the first meeting of the season series 61-53 on the road on Jan. 18, 2023.
 
Four Bearcats scored in double-figures to lead Cincinnati to a 74-66 overtime win at Temple inside Liacouras Center on Feb. 11. Junior guard Jillian Hayes finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, while senior guard Mya Jackson turned in 18 points and eight rebounds. Senior guard Caitlyn Wilson posted 14 points and four rebounds on 4-9 from behind the arc, her seventh game with three-plus threes made this season. Sophomore forward/center Clarissa Craig finished with a career-high 16 points on 7-9 from the field, her eighth double-digit scoring game this season.
 
Cincinnati finished with 34 points in the paint in the win, its ninth game with 30-plus paint points this season. The starting lineup combined for 68 points, the most by our first five this season. It marks the most points scored by Bearcat starters since they scored 69 points in a 76-61 home win over East Carolina on Feb. 24, 2021.
 
East Carolina is 17-8, 8-4 in the AAC in its fourth season under head coach Kim McNeil. The Pirates are currently on a three-game winning streak. Senior guard Danae McNeal leads the team with 16.8 points per game, while freshman forward Amiya Joyner is averaging 10.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. The Pirates are scoring 58.9 points per game on the road this season, compared to 64.8 points at home. East Carolina leads the conference in scoring defense and turnover margin, allowing only 54.8 points per game and posting a +8.6-turnover margin.
