DALLAS, Texas— The University of Cincinnati men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out day two of the 2023 American Athletic Conference Championships recording multiple personal bests in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday.
At the end of day two, the Cincinnati men's team leads SMU 108-106, and the women's team ranks seventh in the team standings with 12 points.
"Our divers had a solid showing on day two," head coach Mandy Commons-DiSalle said. "Alex Givens had another personal best on the 1-meter dive, as all divers continued to show improvement each round. We are looking forward to action getting started on the swim side with the relays tomorrow night and a strong finish for the divers on the platform."
For the second day in a row, freshman Alex Givens led the way for the men's diving team with a fourth-place finish in the men's 1-meter diving. Givens scored a personal best 293.40 points besting his original personal record by more than 15 points.
Following Givens was sophomore Will Claus in fifth place, scoring 257.35 points. Rounding out the rest of the UC men in the diving finals were freshman Preston Landolt in sixth, earing 248.40 points and senior Josh Knapke scoring a personal best, 244.10 points, in seventh.
On the women's side, junior Elizabeth Noble had a bounce-back performance on day 2 in the 3-meter diving event. The Bourbonnais, Ill. native qualified for the 'B' finals, where she placed 15th overall with 242.25 points and earned 12 points toward the team standings for the Bearcat women.

The swimming portion of the AAC Championships begins tomorrow with the men's and women's 200-yard medley relay and 800-yard freestyle relay, and the diving portion will close out the platform events. Diving preliminary rounds will begin at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the final rounds beginning at 6 p.m. ET. The 200-yard relays will begin after the preliminary diving round and the 800-yard relays will start after the diving finals. All events will be streamed on ESPN+.
