CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team seeks a season sweep when the Bearcats hosts Tulane inside Fifth Third Arena on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Bearcats will celebrate Military Appreciation Night and fans in attendance are encouraged to wear red.
Saturday will be the 39th series meeting and the second of the season between the conference opponents. The series is tied at 19-19, but Cincinnati leads 9-6 at home. Senior guard Mya Jackson hit a driving layup to lead Cincinnati to 53-50 win at Tulane in the first season meeting on Feb. 4.
Senior guard Caitlyn Wilson connected on 6-12 from behind the arc in the first season meeting, the most threes made by a Bearcat this season.
Cincinnati fell 68-57 to East Carolina inside Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday. Junior guard Jillian Hayes recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds. It also marks her third double-double in the last five games.
Wilson recorded her second straight double-digit scoring game since rejoining the starting lineup with a team-high 16 points and a career-high seven rebounds. She is averaging 15.0 points per game and 3.5 threes made per game over the last two contests. Freshman A'riel Jackson also dished out a career-high five assists.
The Bearcats' starting lineup combined for 51 points against the Pirates, the second straight-game with at least 50 points from the first five after the starters combined for a season-high 68 points at Temple on Feb. 11.
The Tulane Green Wave is 15-11, 5-8 in the AAC in its 29th season under head coach Lisa Stockton. Stockton earned her 576th victory at Tulane, which ties former Louisiana Tech head coach Leon Barmore for the most wins by a women's college basketball coach in the state of Louisiana. Graduate student guard Marta Galic leads the team with 12.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. She is one of three players averaging double-digit points per game. The Green Wave are averaging 64.8 points and allowing 67.9 points per game on the road. Tulane ranks second in the conference with a 42.7 team field goal percentage.
