Cincinnati had a tough 75-71 loss at East Carolina on Wednesday, a game in which the Bearcats led by 16 with 10 minutes left. Landers Nolley II's 19 points gave him 17-straight in double-figures, and he has 1,585 points over his four-year career. Jeremiah Davenport became UC's 56th 1,000-point scorer in a first half that saw him go 5-for-5 (including four three-pointers) for an eventual game-high 19 points. In his 12 games off the bench, he is shooting 37.6 percent from deep after 29.5 percent over the first 15 starts.
David DeJulius extended his nation-leading 5-plus assist streak (ESPN Stats and Info) to 12 games. His 136 are 50 more than he had last year, while his 5.0 per game (league-best 6.79 in AAC play) is the highest UC average since Taron Baker in 2002-03. In AAC play, Cincinnati and UCF are second and third, respectively, in both offensive and defensive three-point percentage. UCF is the only team to make 10 treys against the Bearcats, who have done so in 11 games themselves. Cincinnati's 16 steals against the Knights on Feb. 4 were its most since November 2015 and remain an AAC team-high on the year.
The Bearcats are 21 three-pointers away from matching last year's school record while seeing a 4.4 percent improvement as well. Sixteen of UC's 17 wins have come when leading at the half. The Bearcats have climbed to 18th nationally with 10.5 turnovers per game, staying in the single-digits five times over the last six games and 13 overall. UC is 15-4 when scoring 70 or more points, with each of its last two defeats coming in that category.

SERIES HISTORY
UC is 14-5 in the all-time series, with all but one of those matchups coming in the AAC. The outlier was in the Citrus Bowl Classic in 1983, and it was truly a clash of Bearcat legends. The late Chuck Machock was in his first of two years as the Knights' head coach, with this one being their final year of Division II. The UC alum was also an assistant coach in Clifton from 1990-93 and later had a lengthy tenure on the radio team.
Future UC head coach, and Naismith Memorial Hall of Famer, Bob Huggins served as an assistant on the opposing bench.
Cincinnati claimed the Feb. 4 matchup with a 73-64 win. UC was up by 16 with 10 minutes left, but UCF fought back using a 7-0 run to tie the game 60-60 with two minutes left.
The Bearcats held strong, however, with Viktor Lakhin (18 of his 20 points in the second half) converting a 3-point play, followed by the DeJulius trey (which was his 1,000th points as a Bearcat), which gave the home team a 66-62 lead with under a minute to play. UCF couldn't respond, missing all three free throws after being fouled on a 3-point attempt, sending Fifth Third Arena into a frenzy. UC's 16 steals were its most since Nov. 2015 and remain an AAC team-high this year.
UCF got the best of Cincinnati in the team's lone meeting last year (Feb. 23), winning 75-61. The Knights led 25-15 and held UC at bay for the remainder. David DeJulius scored 16, while Jeremiah Davenport followed with 15. UC had no turnovers for the second half, but the Knights had 21 to just seven turnovers for the game.
