TULSA, Okla. – Junior guard Jillian Hayes turned in her sixth double-double of the season on 11 points and 11 rebounds, but the University of Cincinnati fell 64-50 to Tulsa inside Donald W. Reynolds Center on Wednesday.
 
Cincinnati is now 7-14 overall, 0-8 in the AAC on the season.
 
Senior guard Mya Jackson finished with 10 points and a team-high five assists for her 14th double-digit scoring game this season. Sophomore forward/center Clarissa Craig posted six points and six points, while junior forward/center Malea Williams added seven points, four rebounds and a block.
 
Cincinnati raced out to an early 15-9 lead at the first media timeout behind four quick points from freshman guard A'riel Jackson. The Bearcats' first-quarter margin extended to seven on the second of two first-quarter triples from Mya Jackson. Jillian Hayes made her presence felt in the paint early with six points to secure a 20-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.
 
Cincinnati converted on 47.1 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from three in the opening period.
 
Tulsa responded with a 15-4 run over the next seven minutes of the second quarter to command the lead late in the first half. A'riel Jackson connected on a deep three that beat the expiring shot clock and cut the deficit to 31-27 with 1:16 remaining before the break. The Golden Hurricane made their final two field attempts to take a 36-27 lead into the locker room.
 
Cincinnati turned in 16 points in the paint and outrebounded their hosts 21-14 in the first half.
 
The Bearcats connected on four of their first five field goals in the second half to make it 46-37 at the first media timeout after the break. Tulsa closed out the third quarter on a 7-3 spurt to extend its margin heading into the fourth.
 
The two teams continued to trade baskets in the fourth quarter as the Bearcats could not mount the late comeback.
 
Cincinnati made its last four attempts to finish 7-10 from the free throw line. The Bearcats have now converted on at least 70.0 percent from the free throw line in six of their last seven contests.
 
Cincinnati will close out a two-game road trip with Tulane inside Devlin Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. ET.
