WHAT'S AT STAKE
Cincinnati is seeking its first 4-1 start since 2018, when it began 6-1. UC has one road tilt under its belt, a 20-9 win at Gardner-Webb that featured a 9-1 run in the second quarter after a 5-3 deficit.

THE LATEST
Marquette ended the Bearcats' undefeated run with a 19-13 defeat on Sunday afternoon. Back-to-back Camryn Callaghan goals, following another from Grace Wehland, early in the fourth quarter rallied UC to a 14-13 deficit and 8:25 left, but the Golden Eagles turned it up a notch to score five-straight to close it out. UC was held to a season-low 13 ground balls and 26 shots, but the eight assists on 13 goals marked its highest ratio.

RECENT HONOREES
Camryn Callaghan's school-record tying eight goals on Sunday against Marquette gave her back-to-back AAC Freshman of the Week honors to start the season. The rookie sensation has a comfortable lead in the league rankings with 21 goals. Grace Wehland was named the Attacker of the Week for the second time in her career, scoring four goals with two assists in a 24-9 win against Robert Morris and had three goals and three assists in a 19-13 setback to Marquette. Wehland, who needed only nine shots for her seven goals, also added five ground balls. She has 10 goals and seven assists through four games in 2023.

Wehland suffered a season-ending injury early in her 2020 freshman year, then played seven matches as a reserve on a fifth- and sixth-year senior dominated 2021 season.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the first all-time meeting between the schools, as the Penguins are also in their third overall season. The two squads share one mutual opponent, Marquette, which defeated Youngstown State 18-11 last Friday.

Lauren Ottensmeyer will make her return to her former school, where she started 10 contests and had 45 goals over 24 games played (the Penguins played only nine in their inaugural 2021 campaign). She has started all four contests and is second with 12 goals on 21 shots.
