Cincinnati Heads to UCF for Final Road Contest

The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team takes on UCF in its final true road contest of the season inside Addition Financial Arena on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team takes on UCF in its final true road contest of the season inside Addition Financial Arena on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
Saturday will be the 23rd overall meeting and the second of the season between the conference opponents and future Big12 members. UCF leads the series 12-10 overall and 6-2 in Orlando. Cincinnati fell late to UCF 60-57 inside Fifth Third Arena in the first meeting of the season on Feb. 8. Junior guard Jillian Hayes finished with a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds, while redshirt sophomore forward Taziah Jenks finished with 12 points, six rebounds and a career-high four steals. Cincinnati finished 21-24 for 87.5 percent from the free throw line against UCF in the meeting, its third game with 20-plus made this season.
 
Cincinnati split the season series with UCF and handed the Knights their only conference loss last season with a 61-57 win inside Fifth Third Arena on Jan. 22, 2022.
 
Cincinnati fell 64-53 at Memphis last time out inside Elma Roane Fieldhouse on Feb. 22. Sophomore forward/center Clarissa Craig finished with a team-high 13 points on 6-9 from the field, her first career contest leading the team in points. Hayes finished with her ninth double-double of the season, 12th of her career, with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Dais'Ja Trotter scored seven points in the third quarter to finish with 10 points, her second double-digit scoring game of the season, and four rebounds in a career-high 23 minutes off the bench.
 
The Bearcats posted six blocks against the Tigers, their 12th game with five or more blocks this season. Junior forward/center Malea Williams leads the conference and ranks 49th nationally with 40 blocks this season.
 
Reigning conference-champion UCF Knights are 12-13 overall, 3-10 in the AAC in their first season under head coach Sytia Messer. The Knights are 10-5 at home this season, improving the home mark to 21-6 over the last two seasons. The Knights are averaging 65.4 points and allowing 58.4 points per game, a +7.0 margin, in home contests. Senior forward Destiny Thomas leads the team with a double-double average of 10.8 points and 10.4 rebounds this season.
