CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team returns home from a two-game road trip to host UCF in their Play4Kay game inside Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Play4Kay game was established in 2007 and is a fundraising initiative started by former head coach Kay Yow in an effort to utilize women's basketball to honor and celebrate female cancer survivors, bring communities together and fundraise for the fight against all cancers affecting women.

The Bearcats will wear special pink jerseys and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive pink pom-poms.

It will be the 22nd meeting between the conference opponents and future Big12 members. Cincinnati aims to even up the series with UCF leading 11-10 overall, but the Bearcats hold a 5-3 advantage at home. The Bearcats split the season series and handed the Knights their lone conference loss last season with a 61-57 win inside Fifth Third Arena on Jan. 22, 2022.

Wednesday will be the first of three home games for the Bearcats in February.

Cincinnati earned its first conference win of the season with a 53-50 win at Tulane inside Devlin Fieldhouse on Feb. 4. Senior guard Caitlyn Wilson connected on 6-12 from three, the most threes made and attempted by a Bearcat this season, for a game-high 18 points in 28 minutes off the bench. The Bearcats finished 7-14 for 50.0 percent from behind the arc and are now 15-2 when hitting at least 50.0 percent from three under head coach Michelle Clark-Heard.

The Bearcats went on a 15-0 run to build their largest lead of the game and secure the momentum on the road in New Orleans. Cincinnati earned its first win this season when trailing at the half, outscoring its opponent 30-26 in the second half.

Cincinnati remains a tough defensive assignment for opponents all season. The Bearcats lead the conference and rank 19th nationally with 4.8 blocks per game, while junior forward/center Malea Williams and junior guard Jillian Hayes both stand third in the conference with 1.5 blocks per game. The Bearcats are also forcing 8.0 steals and 17.0 turnovers per game.

The reigning conference-champion UCF Knights are 10-10 overall, 1-7 in the AAC in their first season under head coach Sytia Messer. The Knights are averaging 53.1 points per game and allowing 76.0 points per game on the road. Senior forward Destiny Thomas is averaging a double-double with 11.6 points and 10.8 rebounds this season. The Knights excel on the offensive glass, leading the conference with 335 total offensive rebounds and 16.8 per game.
