// SENIOR FRED MOUDANI
Moudani earned his first NCAA Indoor Championship selection with a mark of 20.51m / 67"3.5". The personal-best mark also surpassed the indoor program record and American Athletic Conference indoor record. His mark currently ranks third in the nation.
A native of Savigny-Le-Temple, France, Moudani's mark also eclipsed the French National indoor shot put record, which was previously held by Yves Niaré's 20.42-meter throw in 2009.
Moudani placed first in the event in four of the five indoor meets. With a throw of 19.73m / 64'8.75", the senior transfer became the first Bearcat to win the men's AAC shot put title. He led the men's team to its first AAC Championship title and first conference title since 2004.
// SENIOR TAYLOR BEARD
Beard will be making her second appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships after recording the eighth-best high jump clearance in the nation at 1.88m / 6'2". Her new personal-best mark broke the indoor program record and AAC indoor record, both of which were previously held by six-time All-American Loretta Blaut.
The Winchester, Va., native is undefeated in all five meets she has competed in this season, including securing an AAC women's indoor high jump title last week.
In her last appearance at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships, she earned Second Team All-American honors with a 13th-place finish after recording a height of 1.76m / 5'9.25".
CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Since 1964, the Bearcats have earned 30 Indoor All-American honors. Moudani will have a chance to become the first men's Bearcat to earn All-American honors in the shot put event.
Taylor Beard will have a chance to join elite Cincinnati women's high jump company of Loretta Blaut (2016,18,19) and Erika Hurd (2015,16) as the only high jumpers to earn multiple Indoor All-American honors in their career. Beard was an All-American in 2021.
The Bearcats have had only one individual national champion in program history. Annetee Echikunwoke won the women's weight throw at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Blaut holds the best finish in the high jump at the indoor championships as she placed second in 2018.
On the men's side, Bearcat great Al Lanier holds the highest individual event finish at indoor NCAAs with a second-place finish in the long jump in 1972 and 1973.
Last season, former Bearcat Ellie Leather was the lone Cincinnati qualifier at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships. She placed third overall in the women's mile and earned All-American honors.
