CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team travels to the Sunshine State for a pair of matches against conference-opponent South Florida and FGCU this week.
 
Cincinnati takes on South Florida on Tuesday at 12 p.m. ET followed by a short trip south to face FGCU on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET.
 
Following a multi-week break from action, the Bearcats aim to maintain momentum after a 6-1 home win over Western Kentucky on Feb. 25.
 
Redshirt junior Kelli Niehaus has won four of her last five singles match, all of which have come from court four. Freshman Katie Ferguson has earned straight set victories in two of her last three singles matches.
 
South Florida enters the match 7-5 on the season. This will be the first conference match for both the Bulls and Bearcats. South Florida is 3-2 at home, securing three of its last four matches after falling in the home opener. Sophomore Sierra Berry leads the team with a 7-2 singles record, including a 3-1 mark from the first court.
 
FGCU enters the match 8-4 with an impressive 7-1 mark at home on the season. The Eagles have four players who have compiled at least five singles wins in the dual match play, including 7-3 records from junior Jordana Ossa and senior Ida Ferding. The senior pair of Emma Bardet and Ida Ferding lead the team with a 6-4 doubles record at the top position.
 
After the two-match road stint, Cincinnati returns home for six straight matches, starting with Dayton on Wednesday, March 22 at 3 p.m. ET.
