SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The University of Cincinnati baseball team dropped its Thursday night game to USC Upstate, 6-1, at Harley Park in Spartanburg, S.C.
Due to expected inclement weather, Friday's game against Princeton has been moved up to a 9 a.m. start time.
The Bearcats scored one run on five hits and left 10 runners on base, while the Spartans scored six runs on 11 hits and stranded four baserunners.
Sophomore catcher Kory Klingenbeck went 1-for-3 with an RBI and walk. He notched his third double of the season in the eighth inning.
Graduate student starter Dylan Brosky (1-2) tossed five innings and took the loss for the Bearcats.

Cincinnati fell behind in the first inning when USC Upstate plated three early runs against Brosky.
The Bearcats loaded the bases with two walks and a single in the top of the second, but the Spartans ended the threat with a strikeout. USC Upstate took advantage of two hits in the home half of the second to score another run, 4-0. Through seven innings, the Spartans owned a 6-0 advantage.
Cincinnati scored its lone run of the day in the top of the eighth. Alec Jones drew a two-out walk. Klingenbeck then stepped into the batter's box and delivered an RBI double down the right field line.
The Bearcats put runners on first and third in the ninth inning, but the comeback fell short.
