WHAT TO KNOW
The first 100 fans will receive foam Cincinnati cowboy hats. UC, at 7-3 and 1-0 in the AAC, has already reached its overall win total from last year.
WEEKLY HONORS
Cincinnati saw Ava Goeller earn her second Midfielder of the Week award, while Sophia Finotti earned her first-career defender honor from the league. Camryn Callaghan and Lauren Ottensmeyer were also named to the honor roll.
LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati led 4-0 after the first quarter and never looked back in a 19-6 win over Vanderbilt, a remarkable turnaround from a 16-3 loss at No. 19 Michigan. It marked the program's third win over the Commodores and first since 2019, as well as the most goals scored and fewest allowed in 12 all-time matchups. It was also Vandy's second-most allowed goals on the year.
OFFENSE'S ONE-TWO PUNCH STAYS HOT
With four goals on six shots, the freshman star secured her 38th scores of the season, ranking her fifth nationally and second in the AAC. She has hat tricks in nine of 10 matches this year. Goeller's seven goals against Vanderbilt were a career-high, with her nine points matching Callaghan's against Marquette for most on the team this season. Her 18 draw controls rank second to Dani Mlkvy, and her 19 free-position shots are more than twice the next-closest Bearcat.
NOW LET'S TALK DEFENSE
Dani Mlkvy leads the AAC and is 10th nationally with 77 draw controls. It also ranks fourth in single-season school history. Mlkvy previously had 81 last season, and her sister, Sam, had 85 in 2021 and 97 in 2019. Finotti led Cincinnati's defensive effort that limited Vanderbilt to a season-low six goals and only 15 shots (also UC's best of the season) in the Bearcats' 19-6 win. She had a ground ball and two caused turnovers and led a close defense that held the Commodores without a shot in the first quarter, allowing Cincinnati to build a 4-0 lead in the first 15 minutes. Finotti also engineered Cincinnati's clear, which went 14-for-14 on the day.
SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati is 4-0 all-time against Butler, which includes a chilly, 16-12 win in Indianapolis last March for the first meeting since 2019. Kylie Nause led the way with six goals on eight shots, while Goeller added four and Morgan Bates had two.
