CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team welcomes Butler to UC Baseball Stadium this weekend for its final non-conference series of the season.
Due to inclement weather on Friday, the series will begin on Saturday with the regularly scheduled contest at 2 p.m. UC and Butler will now play a doubleheader on Sunday, beginning at noon. Both games will be full nine-inning contests with 40 minutes set for between games.

Cincinnati earned its 100th all-time win against Xavier in a 19-6 victory on Wednesday night at Hayden Field. The Bearcats hit four home runs in the win, including a pair of grand slams from Kameron Guidry and Kory Klingenbeck in the first two innings.
Redshirt junior first baseman Ryan Nicholson has a .325 average (25-for-77) with five home runs, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored in 20 starts. He leads the club in hits (25), home runs (5), doubles (7), triples (1) and multi-hit games (8). In the AAC, he ranks third in total bases (49), fourth in slugging percentage (.636) and 12th in batting average (.325).
Junior Cole Harting is six RBI away from 100 in his career and is tied for first on the team in RBI (13) and home runs (3). He finished 2-for-5 against Xavier with a three-run homer to left field.
Freshman Landyn Vidourek has a .281 average (16-for-57) in 15 starts and is first on the team in runs scored (14), second in walks (11) and third in hits (16). He is batting .409 (9-for-22) when leading off.
Cincinnati has a team batting average of .225 through 22 games. The Bearcats rank second in the AAC and 77th in the country with 24 home runs. UC has ranked in the top-3 in the conference in home runs the past two seasons.
On the mound, freshman starter Tommy Boba picked up his first collegiate win in five innings of work against Xavier. He allowed three runs on six hits and struck out four batters with two walks.
Redshirt junior Chase Hopewell leads the staff in ERA (3.63, min. 1 IP/G), innings pitched (22.1) and strikeouts (18). He boasted a 1.00 ERA in two starts last week against Winthrop (March 14) and Princeton (March 18).
Cincinnati and Butler have met 37 times in program history with the Bearcats leading 24-13 in the all-time series. UC has won three of the last four meetings with the Bulldogs.
The two teams last met on May 14, 2013 in Cincinnati, resulting in a 6-4 victory for the Bearcats.

Cincinnati earned its 100th all-time win against crosstown rival Xavier in a 19-6 victory on Wednesday night at Hayden Field. The 100 victories are the most against any opponent in program history.
The Bearcats hit four home runs in the win, including a pair of grand slams from Guidry and Klingenbeck in the first two innings. Nicholson belted his fifth homer of the season with a solo shot to center field in the second inning, while Harting smashed a three-run home run to left field in the fourth.
Every batter in the Bearcats' starting lineup recorded a hit in the victory. Cincinnati finished with season highs in runs (19), hits (13) and walks (11).
// GRAND SALAMI FOR TWO, PLEASE
Redshirt junior Kameron Guidry and sophomore Kory Klingenbeck each belted a grand slam in the Bearcats' 19-6 win over Xavier on March 22. Guidry launched his first career grand slam to left field in the top of the first and, just an inning later, Klingenbeck cleared the bases with his first career grand slam, ripped to right center.
It was only the second time ever the Bearcats hit two grand slams in one game, and the first in over two decades. Aaron Moll and Joe List each blasted one in a 17-7 victory at Charlotte on May 3, 2002.

Butler (4-16) earned a home win over Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, 9-7, before falling on the road to Ball State on Wednesday, 19-2. Through 20 games, Butler is batting .204 as a team and holds a 7.58 staff ERA, backed by a .945 fielding percentage.
Freshman Joey Urban has a .275 average (22-for-80) in 20 starts and leads the team in RBI (16), runs scored (12), home runs (4) and triples (3). Sophomore Carter Dorighi is batting .276 (21-for-76) in 20 starts.
