TicketsDEBARY, FLA. – University of Cincinnati women's golfers Sadie Pan and Katie Hallinan notched top-10 finishes at the Babs Steffens Invitational on Tuesday.
Pan posted a season-best score of 220 to finish a season-best third out of nearly 80 competitors. She carded a season-low, two-under 70 in the first round to highlight her team-leading performance. Hallinan registered her eighth top-25 finish of the season, placing sixth with a score of 222. She has finished in the top 10 in three of her last four tournaments for the Bearcats.
Cincinnati placed third overall with a team score of 901 for its third top-five finish of the season.
"I am really proud of this team," said head coach Janet Carl. "They battled super hot conditions and a good group of teams to compete against. We were really proud of Sadie and her leading our team at this event. All the ladies have stepped up their game and are really pushing this team forward. On another note, Julia, Olivia and Emma all represented our University well at home playing in Northern Kentucky's event! Ready to get home and get 10 good days of short-game work before we head out to Mercer."
Freshman Brooke Patterson (T18th), junior Paola Rosario (T24th) and Makenna Jones (T33rd) followed in order for the Bearcats' lineup. Jones carded a season-low 75 in the final round to finish with a season-best score of 234.
Junior Paighton Masterson, who competed as an individual, placed 24th with a season-best score of 231.
Up next, Cincinnati will participate in its final regular season tournament at the Brickyard Classic on April 10-11 in Macon, Ga.
