// JOE NUXHALL CLASSIC
This will be the 13th annual Joe Nuxhall Classic (2020 and 2021 canceled due to COVID-19). The tournament began in 2009 to honor Joe Nuxhall, legendary Reds player and announcer. Nuxhall became the youngest player ever to appear in an MLB game when he took the mound for the Cincinnati Reds against the St. Louis Cardinals at Crosley Field on June 10, 1944 at the age of 15. He played for 16 years in the Major Leagues and immediately upon retiring, began a 40-year broadcasting career with the Reds.

UC has won the classic three times, while Wright State leads the group with four classics won. Xavier claimed its second crown last year, snapping Miami's streak of three classics won in a row. UC is 12-12 in the event and won in 2010, 2011 and 2014.

// SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State (15-12, 7-2 Horizon) took two of three from Northern Kentucky this past weekend. WSU claimed the series opener, 6-2, and middle game, 3-1. NKU took the series finale, 9-5.

Sophomore Andrew Patrick has a .326 average (31-for-95) in 26 starts and leads the team in doubles (10), triples (3) and runs scored (27).
