CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati lacrosse goalkeeper Ashley Lapp was named the AAC's Goalkeeper of the Week, while attacker Kylie Gioia and midfielder Ava Goeller earned spots on the honor roll as well.
Lapp's 11 saves were one off a season-high, and with four coming in each of the second and fourth quarters. It was UC's third game out of the last four holding its opponent to single-digits. The junior from Missouri City, Texas, moved to third in the league for GAA, with her 10.10 also second in the school's season record books at this point. She also has seven games of single-digit goals allowed, and the Bearcats have a 3.44 defensive-goals-per-game improvement from last year since her arrival from Akron.
Gioia (Broomall, Pa.) collected her second hat trick, scoring twice in the first five minutes to force a Temple timeout at 10:39. With 16 goals and 12 assists, she has already surpassed her freshman total last year of 14 and 6. Her 55.2 shot percentage leads the team as well, and UC is up 6.1 percent in that category from last year. UC is 4-0 when she scores multiple goals, with her other hat trick coming in the 17-3 win over Butler.
Goeller (Bel Air, Md.) posted her fifth hat trick and has a .500 shot percentage (14 goals, 28 shots) over the last four games, with UC 3-1 in that span. She maintained her team-lead with another assist as well. With UC's 4-0 lead by 7:37 of the first quarter, she had scored twice and assisted on another.
