CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati freshman Ryan Ford was named the AAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the second time of the spring following his showing at the Mossy Oak Collegiate in West Point, Miss.

Ford is the first rookie to earn multiple in-season AAC honors since South Florida's Albin Bergstrom in 2018-19.

Ford tied the school record with an 8-under 64 that had him in first after the opening round. The Westfield, Indiana, native ended up tying for third at 12-under 204, finishing ahead of 15 top-100 golfers and only one stroke off the title. The field itself had 18 teams, and nine of them were in the top-50 (six in the top-25).

It was his second top-three finish, behind only his second-place showing in Puerto Rico that earned him AAC Golfer of the Week then. This was also a 12-stroke improvement from his last outing, providing an extra spark for the No. 33 Bearcats down the stretch. He has a 71.78 stroke average on the year, and this week he had two eagles and a five-birdie streak.

Cincinnati (35 in Golfweek, 36 in Golfstat) returns to action Monday for the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn.
