TicketsMACON, Ga. – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team notched a third-place finish at the Brickyard Collegiate on Tuesday.
The Bearcats posted their second-lowest tournament total of the season with a team score of 912. It marks Cincinnati's fourth top-five team finish in the last five tournaments.
"Today was a good day! The Bearcats battled hard, and I couldn't be more proud of them," said head coach Janet Carl. "This is a difficult golf course and they built great strategies through three rounds, and it paid off! This tournament was a total team effort. They posted the second lowest team score which helps them build confidence as we are head into conference. Katie and Brooke had two top-10 finishes. We need to get back to Cincinnati to get some rest as we head off to the conference championship this week."
The Bearcats had a pair of top-10 performers in graduate student Katie Hallinan and freshman Brooke Patterson. Hallinan carded a two-over 74 in the final round to finish sixth with a score of 226. Patterson notched her first top 10 finish of the season, placing 10th with a score of 227.
Junior Sadie Pan saw a 12-spot improvement in the final round to finish 18th. She carded a one-under 71 in the third round. Junior Paola Rosario recorded a 74 in the final round to finish 27th while sophomore Julia Rabadam placed 32nd.
Junior Paighton Masterson, who competed as an individual, finished in 33rd.
Up next, Cincinnati will participate in the American Athletic Conference Championships on April 17-19 in Brooksville, Fla.
