CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team travels to No. 9-ranked East Carolina for a three-game series, beginning Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. in Greenville, N.C.

Last time out, redshirt junior Kameron Guidry smashed a three-run home run in the 10th to lift the Bearcats to a 7-5 walk-off win over Miami (OH) on Tuesday night inside UC Baseball Stadium. Guidry's heroics capped a 3-for-5, three-RBI night at the plate.
Sophomore Tommy O'Connor made his first career start in left field and went 2-for-4 with his first career home run – a three-run shot to right field – while redshirt junior Ryan Nicholson belted his 25th career home run – a solo shot to left center.
The Bearcats claimed their first conference series win over the weekend against Memphis. UC won the series opener, 6-2, and rubber match, 5-3. The Tigers took the middle game, 6-2.
Nicholson has a .291 average (37-for-127) with eight home runs, 21 RBI and 22 runs scored in 32 starts. He leads the club in hits (37), home runs (8), doubles (9) and multi-hit games (12). He has 95 RBI and 94 runs scored in his career.
Guidry leads the team in RBI (25), runs scored (23) and multi-RBI games (8) and is tied for second in doubles (5) and home runs (3). Since March 22, he is batting .313 (15-for-48) with 18 RBI and 15 runs scored in 14 games played.
On the mound, freshman Tommy Boba turned in a dominant performance against Miami (OH), going five shutout innings of one-hit ball. He struck out a career-high nine batters – the most strikeouts by a Bearcat this season.
Senior pitcher Jackson Murphy leads the staff in wins (3) and is tied for second in appearances (13). He has not given up a run in his last three outings.
UC has an all-time record of 8-33-2 against ECU. The Bearcats are 3-14-1 in Greenville and are looking for their first road win over the Pirates since May 11, 2018.

The Pirates are batting .298 as a team and hold a 3.61 staff ERA, backed by a .958 fielding percentage. Junior third baseman Alec Makarewicz was named the AAC Player of the Week on Monday after batting .562 (9-for-16) with six runs scored, eight RBI, two doubles and a triple.
Senior Carter Spivey earned a spot on the AAC weekly honor roll after allowing just two runs on three hits in a win over UCF on Thursday. He boasts a 3-1 record on the mound for the Pirates.
