CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams are sending a select group of student-athletes to compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday in Bloomington, Ind. This is the Bearcats last meet before postseason competition begins.

Indiana University will host the Billy Hayes Invitational, held at the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex. The one-day meet will be held this Friday, May 5, and will begin at 1 p.m. A complete schedule of start times and events can be found here.

Five Cincinnati track and field program records have fallen this season. Senior Rylee Penn's breakout season continues as she has now broken two UC track and field records this season. The Corona, Calif., native has broken both the 1500m (4:10.13) and 800m (2:01.90) program records and ranks sixth in the nation in both categories.
Fred Moudani broke his own UC outdoor shot put record with a throw of 20.03m/65'8.75". This is the third time this season that he has accomplished the feat as he bested his previous mark by almost a full meter (19.35m/63' 6). The Savigny-Le-Temple, France native placed third overall in the event and his throw currently ranks ninth in the nation and third in the NCAA East Region.
Graduate student Nyile Facey turned on the jets at the Penn Relays last week. She broke the UC 400-meter hurdle record with a time of 58.97. Her time would currently qualify her for the NCAA East Preliminary round.
Junior Leonie Troeger bested her own javelin school record (53.43m/175'4"), which is the 19th-best throw in the nation. Her throw currently leads the American and is more than 23 feet further than the next best mark in the conference.

USTFCCCA TEAM RANKINGS
In the latest USTFCCCA national rankings, the women's team earned its highest ranking of the season, coming in at 33rd in the nation. The team also ranks sixth in the Great Lakes region and second in the American Athletic Conference. The men's team currently holds the second spot in the AAC and the 11th spot in the Great Lakes Region.
In the latest USTFCCCA event squad rankings, the UC men's shot put squad and women's high jump squad both hold a top-10 ranking. The shot put squad ranks fourth in the nation with a combined distance of 73.23m/240'3" and is led by Moudani with his record mark of 20.03m/6'8.75".
The women's high jump squad is currently fifth in the nation with a combined height of 6.99m/22' 11.25" and is led by senior Taylor Beard with her mark of 1.84m/6'.05".
