CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team capped off the home portion of its 2023 schedule with a 10-6 win over Georgetown on Tuesday afternoon inside UC Baseball Stadium.
Graduate student starter Dylan Brosky (3-2) earned the win in six quality innings. He allowed just one run on four hits and struck out four batters with two walks. He surpassed 200 career strikeouts in the top of the second inning.
First baseman Ryan Nicholson hit his team-leading 13th home run of the season to crack into UC's all-time top-10 list for career home runs with 30. His 13 homers are also a new career high in a season for the redshirt junior slugger.
Sophomore Sean Springer recorded a career-high three hits to go along with an RBI and two runs scored. Junior Cole Harting added two hits and an RBI while freshman Griffin Hugus drove in two runs. The bottom three of the Cincinnati lineup finished 6-for-11 with four RBI and four runs scored.
The Bearcats drew 10 walks in the win including a career-high three from Kameron Guidry.

Georgetown struck first on an RBI single in the top of the first. The Bearcats quickly responded with two runs on two hits in the home half. Kerrington Cross continued his hot hitting with an RBI triple to right center. A failed pick-off attempt at first plated Cross to put UC in front, 2-1.
After two scoreless innings, Cincinnati exploded for four runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth. Hugus delivered a one-out, two-run single through the right side. Josh Hegemann then provided a sacrifice fly to center field while Hugus raced home on a wild pitch, 6-1.
Nicholson led off the bottom of the fifth with a solo shot to left center – his team-leading 13th homer of the year. The Bearcats continued to pour on in the frame as Harting and Springer each drove in a run.
The Hoyas plated three runs on three hits in the top of the eighth to make it 9-4.
Springer recorded his third hit of the day to start things off in the bottom of the frame. Hugus and Nicholson each drew a walk to load the bases for CJ Dean who drove in a run on a five-pitch walk.
Georgetown hit a two-run homer in the ninth to account for the 10-6 final score.
