CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati redshirt junior Ryan Nicholson claimed a spot on the final American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll on Sunday.
The first baseman batted .375 (6-for-16) in four starts with three home runs, six RBI, four walks and two stolen bases. He finished with a .500 on-base percentage and .938 slugging percentage. This is Nicholson's fourth AAC weekly honor of the season.
Nicholson belted his first career grand slam in Cincinnati's 12-7 win over Houston on Thursday. His heroics capped a 2-for-5, four RBI night at the plate.
He has collected a team-high 15 homers, 15 doubles and two triples in 53 games this season. He now has 32 homers, 31 doubles, 113 RBI and 112 runs scored in his career. He ranks eighth in program history for home runs in a career (32) and is tied for seventh in the category for a single season (15).
Nicholson and the Bearcats will look to make a postseason run at BayCare Ballpark, spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies, for the 2023 AAC Tournament on May 23-28 in Clearwater, Fla.
