CINCINNATI -- Six University of Cincinnati student-athletes have earned the distinction of attending next month's NIL Summit at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, June 3-5.
Paris Alexander (lacrosse), Camryn Callaghan (lacrosse), Corey Kiner (football), Spirit Morgan (women's track and field), Korbin Spencer (men's track and field), and Jordan Young (football) will represent UC at the second-annual event. Nominees are submitted by an administrator or coach at their current school. Eligibility is contingent upon having at least one semester of eligibility remaining during the 2023-2024 academic year, be currently enrolled, or committed to enroll, at the academic institution submitting the nomination and have participated in at least one NIL transaction by the nomination deadline.
Chad Allen, Director of Student-Athlete Development/Career Exploration and John Peterson, the NIL Director within the Bearcats' football program, will also be in attendance alongside the school's student-athletes.
"The INFLCR NIL Summit represents a cutting-edge fusion of student-athlete development, life skills, and entrepreneurship within the design of the current college athletics ecosystem," Chad Allen, Cincinnati's Director of Student-Athlete Development and Career Exploration, said. "By embracing the innovative concept of NIL, we aim to equip our student-athletes with the tools they need to excel in their chosen field of interest, both on and off the field.
"At UC, we aspire to take our student-athletes to the next level of success," Allen said. "With the NIL Summit, we are preparing them to navigate the professional world with confidence and competence. Our goal is to empower each individual, nurture their talents and guide them towards a future where they thrive as professionals. This multi-day professional development and networking experience is revolutionizing the way we think about providing UC student-athletes with transformational experiences that foster meaningful engagement with key stakeholders."
The calendar of events includes keynote speakers and presentations on best practices, legal and regulatory environments, balancing school involvement, content capture and more, sponsored by top social media companies as well as Lululemon and Invesco QQQ, among others in a business-casual environment. Student-Athlete NIL (SANIL) is hosting the event, while INFLCR serves as the title partner.
"I am extremely excited to attend this event and grow my knowledge and brand through the NIL Summit," Spencer said. "I think that I will meet a lot of cool people and really benefit from it. I am eager to learn how to share my story to the world, I'm also excited to learn how to capitalize on my opportunities using social media."
The NIL Summit was born of the idea of giving student-athletes from across the nation a platform to combine as a community of influencers and change agents, to share ideas and collaborate alongside the transformative brands and organizations shaping the future of college sports.
