CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team announced its non-conference schedule on Friday.
"Our staff and program are very excited about not only our schedule but our first year in the Big 12," head coach Erica Demers said.
"When we are creating our schedule our priority is conference preparation. We believe every opponent will push our players to be at their best and prepare us for differences in styles that we will face come the middle of September and Big 12 action."
To tune up for the 2023 campaign, the Bearcats will be on the road for two exhibition matches against Marshall on Aug. 6 and Northern Kentucky on Aug. 13.
Cincinnati begins the regular season on the road. The Bearcats open the season in East Lansing, Mich., taking on Michigan State on Aug. 17, followed by a trip North on I-71 to face Dayton on Aug. 20.
The Bearcats will compete inside Gettler Stadium for the first time under Demers in the home opener against Bowling Green on Aug. 24. This will be the first of a three-game stretch at home as Cincinnati will close out August with matches against Illinois State (Aug. 24) and Central Michigan (Aug. 31).
"The fans support is everything to this team and we can't wait to see a packed Gettler Stadium at all of our home matches this season," Demers said.
Cincinnati opens play in September back on the road in Ann Arbor, Mich. to face Michigan on Sept. 3, followed by a match against Butler on Sept.7.
Next, the Bearcats will welcome Pittsburgh to Gettler Stadium for their final non-conference match of the season on Sept. 10.
Cincinnati will begin Big 12 conference action on Sept.14 against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan.
UC will host TCU in their conference home opener on Sept. 21 and also host Iowa State (Spet. 24), Oklahoma State (Oct. 5), Oklahoma (Oct. 8) and UCF (Oct. 10) in conference play.
