CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati men's golf graduate Sam Jean became UC's third men's golfer in six years to earn AAC Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, as announced by the league on Wednesday.

The AAC has given such an award for men's golf since 2017-18, with Bearcats Davis Baxter and Austin Squires earning the award each of the first two seasons as well.

Jean was also previously named the seventh Bearcat in school history to earn multiple Academic All-America honors, claiming a Second-Team spot on the at-large team as announced Wednesday by College Sports Communicators.

The Greenwood, Ind., native graduated with a 3.96 GPA in mechanical engineering. He was also a three-time All-AAC and PING All-Region performer. His 69.77 stroke average this season, as well as his career 72.26, marked school records in each. He finished ninth at the Las Vegas Regional, the highest of any Bearcat at that stage all-time, which was his second NCAA appearance as well.

Jean had five top-10 finishes this season, including the Bearcat Invitational title which was the second of his career. He helped UC to its first team NCAA bid in program history as well.
