IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced its home-and-away scheduling matrix on Thursday ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Within its inaugural 18-game Big 12 schedule, Cincinnati will play five conference opponents twice and then travel to or host the remaining eight opponents once to round out the slate. Conference representatives selected pairings based on a combination of geography, historical results and a poll of the head coaches to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitive balance.
A complete Big 12 schedule with times, date and television information will be released at a later date.
Cincinnati will tip off with BYU, UCF, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and West Virginia in its home-and-away matchups. The Bearcats will welcome Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and TCU to Fifth Third Arena and will face Houston, Iowa State, Kansas and Texas on the road.
Of its 13 opponents, Cincinnati will take on Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech for the first time in program history.
The conference slate includes eight game against opponents that advanced to the 2023 NCAA Tournament. For the second consecutive year, the Big 12 had 60 percent of its teams selected for the NCAA Tournament and sent 90 percent to postseason play, both marks which led the nation.
The Big 12 also boasted the third-best non-conference win percentage at 80 percent.
