CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team will square off against a familiar foe in Northern Kentucky in the team's final exhibition match ahead of the 2023 season on Sunday.
While not an official match-up of the Riverboat Rivalry, the exhibition match will kick off at 7 p.m. inside NKU Soccer Stadium across the river in Highland Height, Ky. As an exhibition no score or stats will be recorded from the match.
The last time the two teams faced each other was last season inside Gettler Stadium where the Bearcats won 2-0, as returning senior Vyviene Spaulding scored the game winning goal.
On Wednesday, Aug, 9, the Bearcats faced Marshall in their first exhibition of the year as part of the teams preparation for the upcoming season.
Cincinnati will open the 2023 season on the road in East Lansing, Mich., taking on Michigan State. The match will be head coach Erica Demers first official game as UC's head coach after spending the last six season as the head of the University of Alabama Birmingham's program.
The Bearcats home opener will be on Aug. 24 as the team will welcome Bowling Green to Getter stadium.
