CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team concluded the Tribute to #10 Tournament with a sweep of Indiana State on Sunday afternoon inside Fifth Third Arena.
The Bearcats (2-1) were led by graduate student Jadyn Bauss, who recorded a match-high 20 kills on 39 swings for a .420 hitting percentage. It marked a new career high for kills in a three-set match for the outside hitter.
Junior Abby Walker also had an efficient showing with 13 kills and only one attacking error on 20 swings (.600). Freshman Nina Horning made her first career start for the Bearcats and finished with nine kills, two digs and one block.
Junior Katelyn Lefler guided the Bearcats to a .348 hitting percentage behind 39 assists. She chipped in 11 digs for her second double-double in as many matches.
Defensively, graduate student Carly Skrabak registered 17 digs to go along with eight assists.

SET 1 | Cincinnati put down three straight kills to lead 14-8 in the first set. The Sycamores responded with a 4-0 run to force a UC timeout. Indiana State later pulled within one before UC rattled off three straight points, capped off by a kill from Horning. The Bearcats held on to win the stanza, 25-21. Bauss had six kills on 13 swings to go along with five digs.
SET 2 | The Bearcats scored the first four points of the second set, including two kills from Bauss. After Indiana State came back to take the lead, Bauss notched three straight kills to put UC in front for the remainder of the set. Bauss had eight kills while Carly Glendinning chipped in four.
SET 3 | Bauss and Walker took over for the Bearcats in the third and final set. Bauss had a stretch of five straight kills while Walker scored four of the Bearcats' final six points. Cincinnati ended the match on a 6-1 scoring run to win the frame, 25-17.

- Skrabak, Bauss, Lefler, Horning, Vivian Campbell and Kayla Hostetler all made their Bearcat debuts this weekend.
- Cincinnati broke its volleyball attendance record on Saturday night with 3,358 fans packed inside Fifth Third Arena. Friday night's attendance of 1,513 was the fifth-most in program history.
- The Bearcats totaled 18 service aces on Saturday against Xavier, breaking the program and Big 12 records for service aces in a four-set match. The program record of 17 previously stood for 19 years. The Big 12's record was set in 2005 when Oklahoma totaled 17 against Loyola (Ill.). Shaye Eggleston had a career-high seven aces while Bauss tied her career high with five.
- Bauss led the Bearcats in kills in all three matches, highlighted by a 20-kill performance against Indiana State. She averaged 4.90 kills per set at a .303 hitting percentage this weekend.
- Lefler recorded her first two double-doubles as a Bearcat: 47 assists and 12 digs against Xavier and 39 assists and 11 digs against Indiana State.
