TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team wraps up non-conference play at the Tru by Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational, hosted by Wright State this weekend at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium in Dayton, Ohio.
The Bearcats open the tournament against Butler at 2 p.m. on Friday. UC will face the host Raiders at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Cincinnati's match versus Wright State will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+ and all matches can be followed at SidearmStats.

Cincinnati holds a 21-11 all-time record against Wright State. The two teams will be meeting for the first time since 2009, when the Bearcats earned a 3-0 win over the Raiders in Dayton, Ohio.
Butler holds a slim 6-7 advantage in the all-time series. The last time the two teams met was in 2015 when UC defeated Butler in four sets to win the Butler All-American Classic.

Cincinnati split a two-match series with South Carolina to move to 6-2 on the season. After falling in five sets on Friday, the Bearcats bounced back with a straight-set victory over the Gamecocks on Saturday afternoon in Fifth Third Arena.
Junior Abby Walker hit an impressive .556 with 10 kills and no errors on 18 swings on the right side on Saturday. She added four blocks, four digs and an ace in the sweep.
Freshman Kayla Hostetler, a defensive specialist from Hebron, Ky., made the first two starts of her career last weekend. She averaged 3.25 digs per set and posted a match-high 19 digs on Friday.

Transfers Jadyn Bauss, Carly Skrabak and Katelyn Lefler have started and played in every set this season. Bauss has led the Bearcats in kills in all but one match this season. She has finished with double-digit kills in all eight matches, including 20-plus kills on two occasions. She sits 15th in the nation in points per set (5.22) and 25th in aces per set (0.62).
Skrabak is averaging 4.03 digs per set as the team's starting libero. She's currently 16th among active career leaders with 1,604 career digs. Her season highs of 21 digs and nine assists came in UC's win over Kennesaw State.
Lefler has recorded five double-doubles in eight matches this season. She ranks first in the Big 12 and fifth nationally with 11.38 assists per set. She has recorded 40-plus assists four times this season. The Bearcats rank first in the Big 12 and sixth in the nation in assists per set (13.48).

Six Big 12 schools are ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA)/Taraflex Division I Coaches Poll. Texas is ranked No. 6, BYU is No. 12, Baylor is No. 18, Kansas is No. 20, Houston is No. 22 and Iowa State is No. 23. UCF received votes.
The Conference is one of two leagues with six teams ranked. The 46% of the league ranked is the highest percentage of any conference.
