TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team closed out a weekend full of action at the Harvard Fall Classic on Sunday.
Overall, the Bearcats posted six doubles victories and eight more in singles action over the three-day hidden-dual format event.
The pair of junior Elizabeth Pendergast and freshman Morgan Pyrz turned in consecutive wins from the top doubles position on Friday and Saturday. The newcomer pair of sophomore transfer Rozalia Gruszczynska and freshman Gabrielle Guenther also posted a pair of doubles wins on the first two days of competition.
Pendergast recorded an impressive straight set win, 6-1, 6-2, over Harvard's No. 109 ranked singles player on Friday.
Sophomore Isabel Pacheco added a team-best two singles wins on the weekend.
In addition to Guenther and Pyrz, freshman Sakurako Watanabe added a doubles and singles win on her debut weekend.
Cincinnati will be back in action at the Flyer Invitational in Dayton on Sept. 22-23.
