INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Junior forward Laura Zemberyova and freshman Emma Gioffre each scored goals as Cincinnati tied Butler, 2-2, on Thursday inside the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl.

The Bearcats head back to Cincinnati with a record of 1-3-2 on the year, as Butler moved to 2-4-1.

The goals from Zemberyova and Gioffre were their first scores as Bearcats.

Down 2-1 in the 87th minute, standout freshman Gioffre picked the perfect time to score her first collegiate goal. Junior midfielder Fran Stables bent one into the box and found a crashing Gioffre who headed in the equalizing goal.

Butler's Norah Jecormen scored the opening goal of the match in the 17' minute but the lead was short-lived, Zemberyova was quick to answer for the Bearcats as she blasted one past goalkeeper Anna Pierce to notch her first goal of the season in the 23rd minute.

The Slovakian UAB transfer scored her seventh colligate goal.

The teams were deadlocked 1-1 at halftime, but Butler's Abigal Isger gave the Bulldogs the lead back in the 52nd minute as she sent a shot past the outstretched arms of senior goalkeeper Anna Rexford.

Rexford finished the game with four saves on season-high 20 shots faced. She has 26 saves this season.

Graduate senior defender Ashley Barron continues to rewrite history. After playing the full 90 for a fourth straight match, she now has totaled 5,948 career minutes played. Only six Bearcats have reached the 6,000-minute career threshold in program history.
